Officials of Agency of Protected area visiting South Korea

The representatives of the agency of protected areas of Georgia are on the official visit to South Korea. The visit is aimed to know international environment protection practices and measures.

The representatives of the agency of protected areas of Georgia are on the official visit to South Korea. The visit is aimed to know international environment protection practices and measures.

The agency member used to visit the different countries every year to enhance the knowledge which can be implemented. The international experience also helped the member of agency for effective implementation of the environment monitoring mechanism.

This time as a part of their visit the official of agency of protected area visited the two national parks of Korea namely Buchannan and Odesan.

The official during stay there also got acquainted with the specifications of Korean national parks management, biodiversity protection, conservation and ecotourism activities.

It is worth to note that the during the visit, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Kazbegi National Park and Buchansan National Park. The Memorandum provides for the sharing of best practices and information as well as the implementation of joint projects to improve the management of these parks.

It is also to be noted that the members of the agency participated in the simulated fire extinguishing process and learned about the methods of fighting fires in Korean national parks.

It is worth noting that the Agency of Protected Areas Korea National Parks Service (KNPS) will soon be provided with firefighting equipment which will greatly contribute to firefighting processes as well.

The representative from both sides have stressed a close cooperation between the Agency of Protected Areas and the Korea National Parks Service (KNPS). Moreover within the framework of this partnership, a number of important events were implemented, including the visit of agency staff to Korea.

Notably at different times the protected areas agency has been receiving the various technical equipment from the Korea National Parks Service (KNPS), including fire engines high-tech drone etc.

The fire extinguishers are also provided to Georgia at different time to tackle the wildfire emergency situation. At the same time both sides have expressed desire to build strong relationship in future as well.
