Giorgi Gurjumelidze First Deputy Mayor of Ozurgeti participated in a regional conference held under the theme of “GITI 2023”. This “13th Regional Cyber Security and IT Innovation conference and award”was held in Tbilisi with the participation of thousands of Delegates.
It is to be specifically to be mentioned that Cybersecurity and Information Technology Development Conference – “GITI 2023” was held in Tbilisi. The representatives of the public and civil sectors attended this significant conference.
This was a two-day conference held at Pullman Tbilisi Axis Towers. This confernce is held annually is one of the major conference of the country as well as of the Region.
The conference which is held annually every year in region has become a flagship event in the field of IT and Cyber Security.
The conference provides an opportunity and a high-powered environment in which IT experts, information security professionals, government officials, businessmen, and other “bright minds”, who want to make life more challenging through the extensive use of ICTs (Information and communication technology)can network, establish essential cooperation mechanisms, and exchange views on best practices in this particular field.
Notably More than 700 participants from over 20 countries attended the last conference this year more impressive turnout is expected.
It is worth to mention that at the 13th meeting of the regional conference, the Municipality of Ozurgeta was represented with one of its successful examples of the projects “Log-in Georgia”. This project was aimed to increase internet accessibility acorss the Georgia.
Deputy Mayor Giorgi Ghurjumelidze Speaking on the occasion spoke about the achievements and issues that were solved after the implementation of this project and brought positive changes at the municipal level.
As per Giorgi Ghurjumelidze, in the wake of the ongoing digital transformation in the world the use of digital technologies is planned to simplify public service delivery at every level of the public field.Notably this two-day conference was organized by the ICT Business Council and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development with the support of USAID, GIZ and UNDP.
USAID agency is the International Humaitarian aid agency that is supporting many projects in Georgia.Large Number of Delegates participated in this conference. Presenataion were also held during the confernce.
Deputy Mayor speaking further said that this is the best platform to discuss the various aspects of the information and technology Field. He said sharing their views with each others the IT experts can learn many new and latest development and can also contribute for the progress of IT and related activities in the country.
