Belgium, Brussels: The representatives of the Georgian Personal Data Protection Service (PDPS) participated in the annual conference dedicated to International Data Protection Day. The conference was held on January 28, 2025, in Brussels, Belgium.
The Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia shared glimpses of the conference and also shared information about the event on its official Facebook Page on January 29, 2025.
According to the information, shared by the service, it should be noted that the conference was organized by the Council of Europe (CoE) and the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS). The event was organized in the European Commission’s “Charlemagne” building.Â
Aim of the Conference
This important event aimed to bring together leading specialists in the field of data protection and discuss current challenges and opportunities for future development.
Through active cooperation with leading international experts in the field and active participation in international events, the Data Protection Service continues to protect the privacy rights of data entities and refine the legal framework for personal data protection.
Goal of the Conference
The goal of the conference was to provide a platform to discuss current and future challenges in data protection.
According to the information, it was also noted that the conference helped to strengthen international cooperation and ensure compliance with international standards of national data protection legislation.
It should also be noted that the conference addressed the challenges and opportunities at the intersection between emerging technologies and privacy risks, as well as between innovation and regulatory frameworks. It was also an opportunity to tackle the need to protect personal data in the context of new technological developments in artificial intelligence and neuroscience.
