Venice, Italy: The Personal Data Protection Service (PDPS) of Georgia organized the annual international event, “Privacy Symposium.” It was held in Venice, Italy from May 12 to May 16, 2025.
PDPS put out some updates from the international event on their Official Facebook page on May 16. Also, they posted a short note with the snippets from the event.
Notably, during the event, the Head of the Personal Data Protection Service, Lela Janashvili, presented a report at one of the conference’s panel sessions. He presented the report on the topic – International cooperation among European Personal Data Protection Supervisory Bodies of Non-EU Countries “Deepening in labor.”
According to Lela Janashvili, it was a great honour for the Georgian Personal Data Protection Service (PDPS) as it hosted such a large-scale event.
Main highlights of the Report
Within the framework of the report, the focus was on the hosting of the 33rd European Conference of the Personal Data Protection Supervisory Authority by the Personal Data Protection Service (PDPS), the format of cooperation with the “European Data Protection Council”, and the international activities carried out by the Service.
During the panel session, Lela Janashvili reviewed the 33rd European Conference of the Supervisory Body of Personal Data Protection. The topics of discussion on the agenda of the event were also examined by him. He also shared information with colleagues about the resolution adopted by the conference aimed at deepening international cooperation.
In addition to the above, Lela Janashvili shared information about the service’s action plan and strategy, including deepening international relations with participants of the symposium.

It is also worth mentioning that “Privacy Symposium is a major international platform related to the issue of personal data protection and privacy. As for the main objectives:-
- To set the best practices in the field
- Intensify the international collaboration between the PPC supervisory authorities and the field of innovative technologies
- Running a debate and founding an international association of players in the field.
