Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgia have attended a welcoming ceremony for the Olympians returned from Paris. This was held to praise the achievement of winner and motivate the other for  hard work to win medal next time.
The event was held Palace of State  in honor of the Georgian athletes participating in the Summer Olympic Games in Paris. The Prime Minisrer was accompanied by the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili. The Prime Minister and Speaker on this occasion have  addressed the guests of the event and thanked the famous athletes for competing in the historical significance in Paris.
It is also to be added that the event was attended by the Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia Tea Tsulukiani, members of the Cabinet of Ministers, representatives of the Parliament of Georgia, First Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports Ioseb Baghaturia and veteran athletes who represented country at  many regional and international sports event also.
The Republic of Georgia showed a historic result at the world’s largest sports event which is known as  Paris Olympics. Georgia won three gold medals for the first time since 2008  however this time Georgia won a total of seven Olympic medals and took the 24th place in the total number of medals in history for the first time.
This year there were more than 10,000 athletes competed in thirty-two sports in Paris  the capital city of France. There were  28 athletes defended the honor of Georgia in ten sports. Now  from August 28 to September 8  Paris will host the Paralympic Games.
The next Olympic Games will be held in Los Angeles in 2028. It should be noted that the Georgian Paralympic team will compete with 14 paraathletes in six sports for the first time in the history of the 17th Paralympic Summer Games in Paris.
Meanwhile as per the polices of Goevernment it will  award 1,000,000 GEL to each Olympic champion, 500,000 GEL to the silver medalist, and 250,000 GEL to the bronze medalist. All other members of the Olympic team will receive 50,000 GEL.
