Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili is reacting to the events in Bichvinta for the first time and thinks that “politicians should not make too much fuss” about the issue.
According to Garibashvili, the government “maintains peace in the country with a reasonable policy and will unite the country with the same reasonable policy.”
“Not only Bichvinta but all of Abkhazia, our indigenous historical territory and Samachablo, the Tskhinvali region, is temporarily occupied by Russia. Therefore, of course, I would call on politicians not to make too much noise; I would remind them that it is their foolish. As a result of the policy, we lost the Kodori valley, which had nothing to do with this conflict, and more than 100 villages. We, with our reasonable policy, are making sure that peace, tranquillity, and stability are maintained in the country, and with our equally reasonable policy, we will unite our country.” , – says Garibashvili.Â
In January 2022, a document was signed in secret between the government of the occupation regime of Abkhazia and Russia, according to which the government country house “Bichvinta” will be transferred to the ownership of the Russian Federation.
186 hectares of land and 115 hectares of sea space are transferred to the possession of the occupying country. All buildings and structures become the property of the Federal Protection Service, and the Black Sea Equatoria with the surrounding lands will be transferred to Russia on a 49-year lease. The document provides for the free transfer of the real estate to Russia.
