PM Kobakhidze extends best wishes to Parathelets for Paralympic Games 2024

Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgia  today attended the farewell ceremony for participants of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and extended his best wishes.

Tbilisi: Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgia  today attended the farewell ceremony for participants of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The PM also extended his best wishes to Parathelets for their victory in these games.

 

The Paris Paralympic Games will be held from August 28 to September 8, 2024. According to the organizers  all the Paralympic events will be held in or around the city of Paris.  Another difference people will see this time is the the opening ceremony will take place outside the stadium. The opening event will be held in Paris from the Champs-Elysées to the Place de la Concorde.

 

An impressive farewell event was organized today in Georgia. In addition to the Prime Minister many  other dignitaries attended the event. The event hall was full of the general public as well as parathletes.  Prime Minister Kobakhidze took to their social media handles and shared a glimpse of the farewell ceremony. PM stated on his official Facebook page “Today I am very excited to attend the farewell ceremony for the participants from Georgia to Paris Paralympics.”

 

According to PM all the country’s participants have a special mission. They are symbols of dedication, determination  and courage. They have defeated all the odds to avail themselves of this opportunity to represent the country in the Paris Olympics 2024.  PM  while appreciating further the participants  added that they represent the unbreakable and undefeated spirit of the Georgian people  which they have  earned through hard work.

 

While motivating them the PM  announced that the government would treat all equally, whether they competed in Olympic or Paralympic games. Moreover  identical prizes have been created for all of them without any discrimination based on disability.

 

Eventually  each gold medalist will receive one million GEL  whereas the silver medalist will be eligible to receive half a million  and the bronze medalist a sum of 250,000 GEL.  PM said that with consistent efforts, the number of para-athletes has increased this year from Georgia. The equal prize money will also encourage others to overcome the difficulties of life.
