Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze had an brief interaction with speaker of Oliy Mejlis, the Parliament of Uzbekistan, Nuridin Ismoilov. The leaders from both sides have discussed multiple issues of bilateral importance.
While taking to his official Facebook page the PM Kobakhidze wrote, “I met with the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Mejlis of Uzbekistan, Nuridin Ismoilov. We have highlighted the fruitful cooperation between the legislative bodies of Georgia and Uzbekistan.”
The Prime Minister thanked the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber for hosting the Georgian delegation and also discussed the friendly relations between the two countries. At the same time PM drew attention to the potential for deepening bilateral economic cooperation.
The Georgian leader further highlighted that, “Our countries are connected by good economic cooperation, but there is great potential for its expansion. Bilateral trade turnover can be significantly improved.”
According to PM the government of both sides are doing everything that is necessary to improve the transit function and connectivity of both countries with other states.
Georgia has a rapid economic growth and many independent rating agencies expected positive outcome. Over the past four years, Georgia’s average economic growth rate has exceeded 9.5 percent, which is the highest in Europe.
In addition PM Skerrit further added, we pursue a very liberal economic policy, We have very low tax rates and a small number of taxes in the country and this is necessary to creates very good conditions for worldwide investors in Georgia for economic and entrepreneurial activities.
On the other hand, speaker expressed hopes that the meeting result in fruitful outcome in near future as well. The cooperation in the field of tourism is quite intensive.
He said, there are many areas where we can further deepen cooperation. There is a great prospect of deepening cooperation in the fields of art, science, education, sports and other areas. We are very interested in the development of cooperation in all these areas.
