Tbilisi: Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgis has come under fierce attack of many foreign government. The government of Romania, Italy and Spain have now slammed Georgian Prime Minister for spreading misinformation.
In as recently released statement government of these countries have taken a strong exception of current incident happening in Georgia. They also rejected claims of the Prime Minister that official of these countries have not opposed sanction against members of Georgian Dream party.
All the countries also expressed their concern about the situation in Georgia and said this information being spread by Georgian Prime Minster is unacceptable as well.
It is worth to note that the official of these countries stated, “This is very unfortunate to see that Prime Minister of democratic country is hurling such kind of allegation against our us. Moreover, we also expect strict action from for all those who are using excessive force against the members of civil society organisatons and non-governmental organisation also.”
A formal statement issued by the government of Romania. The foreign ministry of Italy also made a statement following action of Romanian government. All countries have also supported Kaja Kallas, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, they also extended the support for imposing sanctions and suspension of visa-free travel for diplomatic passports holder of Georgia.
It is time which is very crucial. The time is also when the European Union must stand by the Georgian people. EU also need to stand by people of Georgia who are seeing their bright future within European Union also.
The Foreign Affairs Council of European Union member counties were held recently on December 16. In this meeting members countries of European Unions have made the statement about the current event happening in Georgia also.
Although the sanction being imposed by council against GD officials were reportedly vetoed by Hungary and Slovakia. In spite of this countries of European Union have also asked European Council for preparing the official document with a view to suspend visa-free travel for Georgian diplomatic passports.
