Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with ruler of United Arab Emirates during official visit. PM also thanked UAE’s ruler for inviting him for attending “World Government Summit”.
While taking to his official social media handles PM shared glimpses of this historic bilateral meeting as well. On his official Facebook page PM added, “I met with the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. I thanked the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates for the invitation to the World Government Summit and noted that it is an important platform for deepening ties between countries and discussing issues of common interest.”
According to prime minister the fruitful cooperation between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates in various fields was emphasized during the meeting. The importance of the memorandum signed with Emaar Properties/Eagle Hills during the visit to Abu Dhabi was noted, which involves the implementation of an unprecedented volume of investments in Georgia – 6 billion USD.
It is also worth to note that during the meeting the attention was also focused on the positive dynamics of economic cooperation between both countries. The favourable investment environment in Georgia and state programs supporting business development was also discusses in detailed by both leaders on this special occasion.
The conversation touched upon the successful investment projects of the largest companies of the United Arab Emirates in Georgia. In this context, the Tbilisi Dry Port project, which is being implemented with the investment of the Abu Dhabi Ports Group and will be completed in 2025 was particularly noted.
The meeting noted the potential between the two countries in terms of increasing trade turnover, developing cooperation in the fields of energy and tourism and the importance of fully utilizing it.
In the end of this fruitful meeting Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze officially invited the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates to Georgia.He expressed hopes that UAE leader will soon visit Georgia which will strengthen bilateral relation between both sides.
