Dubai: Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with officials of Abu Dhabi ports group. The meeting focused on Tbilisi dry port project’s latest developments there.
Georgian PM is currently on official visit to United Arab Emirates to attend world government summit. The Prime Minister during his visit was accompanied by many senior members of his government and higher officials of his ruling party Georgian Dream.
As mentioned above during the meeting, the Abu Dhabi Ports Group’s large investment in the Tbilisi Dry Port project, the official opening of which is planned for 2025 was discussed by both sides in detail. The conversation also touched on the prospects for further expansion of cooperation with the company in the direction of strategic logistics and transport projects in Georgia.
After the meeting, together with the Georgian delegation, PM got acquainted with the infrastructure of Port Khalifa and the work of the port also. While sharing further details the office of Prime Minister stated, “We have a joint, very important project that is being implemented. There is also interest of government to make relation of Georgia with other countries stronger. We expressed our full readiness to deepen cooperation as much as possible. All this will contribute to strengthening Georgia’s positions and maximizing the use of our economic potential.”
At the same time Prime Minister also underlined that working with the United Arab Emirates, relevant companies, and institutions has very great prospects in all respects. It is worth noting that AD ports group is presently creating and regulating ports as well other infrastructure projects related to ports.
The company which was formerly called Abu Dhabi ports company was establishes in year 2006. At present company is operating 10 terminals and other ports in United Arab Emirates.
After its establishment company have taken many steps for expansion. In the year 2023 the company have expanded its business to many countries across south Asian countries.
