Tbilisi, Georgia: The President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili opened a military camp in Sergeant Academy named after Giorgi Antsukhelidze in Kojori. The opening ceremony was held on June 25, 2025, Wednesday.
Anong with the Georgian President, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Vice Prime Minister, Defense Minister Irakli Chikovani, and Minister of Education, Science and Youth Aleksandre Tsuladze were also present there.
Notably, the Georgian Minister of Defense gave a wonderful speech at the opening event. In his speech, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the representatives of the Georgian Government and the Patriarchate for their support of the army camp and emphasized the importance of the project.
Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, and Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Aleksandre Tsuladze addressed the participants of the summer camp. They talked about the importance of raising patriotic spirit in the younger generation and wished the participants good luck.
After the event, the members of the government visited the medical, engineering, fire, and mining training special operations unit, as well as military personnel individual equipment, and “unmanned flying apparatus” training spaces. Guests also attended the competition between teams to cross the fence line.
At the Sergeants Academy, the Commander of the Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Giorgi Matiashvili, representatives of the Defense Agency, the Ministry of Education, and the Patriarchate were present.
In parallel with Kojri, an “Army Camp” was opened at Sachkheri Mining Training School. This year “Army camp” will host approximately 1700 students of 9th, 10th, and 11th grades, in total 8 rotations. Camps of Kojri and Sachkheri will be filled with 100 children in every 6-day rotation.
In order to uplift the patriotic spirit in the young generation, promote a healthy lifestyle, and increase awareness of the Georgian army, the Ministry of Defense together with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, is implementing the project “Army Camp” for the third year.
