The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office has charged five persons, including citizens of a foreign country, for illegal possession, promoting their realization, illegally importing into Georgia, attacking a police officer, unlawful purchase of firearms, and military material.
According to the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, it has been established that one of the defendants had illegally brought a huge quantity of drugs to Georgia through Tbilisi International Airport – heroin, a large quantity of drugs “Methadone (foundation)” and “Methamphetamine (foundation)”.
Investigation also found that part of the accused had illegally purchased and stored vast quantities of narcotic substances, “amphetamine”, “methadone (foundation)”, “methamphetamine”, MDMA, as well as the psychotropic substance “pregabalin”. And one of the accused rightfully purchased, kept, and carried a firearm.
Also, one of the accused, who kept drugs in the car during his driving, resisted law enforcement officers with violence, attacked the police car with a car, and tried to hide. As a result of the car crash, the law enforcers in an especially large number, 851.74 g. The drug “Alpha-PPP” was removed.
The detainees will be charged under Article 260 2nd, “a”, “d”, 3rd part “a” sub-section (illegal possession of drugs, committed in large and especially large quantities), Article 2nd part “a” and 4th part “a” subsection (illegal import of drugs into Georgia, committed in a large and especially large quantity), Article 5th “a” and Article 261 (Promoting the illicit sale of large and especially large quantities of narcotics), Article 261 (illegal purchase and possession of large quantities of psychotropic substances by a person convicted of a drug offence), Article 353 (Attack on the vehicle of a police officer, committed by a police officer Regarding various activities) 236th Article 3 and 4 (Unlawful purchase, storage and carry of firearms and military material) which provides for punishment of up to 8 years and 20 years or life imprisonment.
Based on the intervention of the Prosecutor’s Office, the court has already arrested the accused.
