Gori Municipality, Georgia: The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has filed charges against a person for the intentional murder in Gori Municipality. The office is investigating the matter further to bring the culprits to justice.
The prosecutor’s office of Georgia has shared the information on its official Facebook page. As per the information after receiving the information, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has conducted a preliminary investigation to extract the truth.
According to the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was revealed that on March 10, in the city of Gori, the accused committed this heinous crime. The accused intentionally killed a helpless grandfather with a motive of revenge, with special brutality.
Later on, due to this serious bodily injury which was caused by the accused, the victim died on the spot. After the preliminary investigation, the role of the accused appears clear. So, the officials of the law enforcement agencies arrested the accused on the same day.
According to the prosecution office officials the accused have been charged under the sub-positions “e”, “k” and “m” of the Criminal Code of Georgia 11 Prima – Article 109 (intentional murder against a family member, with special cruelty, helplessness for the offender by prior knowledge).
According to the legal provision, the accused person can be sentenced to up to sixteen to twenty years or life imprisonment, if they are found guilty after the trial of the case.
It is worth noting that the Prosecutor’s Office has already appealed to the court by mediating the use of imprisonment as a measure of extortion for the accused.
It is to be specifically mentioned that law enforcement agencies of Georgia are working in collaboration to tackle the country’s increasing crime rate. The law enforcers are also organizing seminars and workshops to inform people about the strict legal provisions. At the same time,  legal provisions are being made more stringent so that accused persons can be prevented from committing offenses due to fear of the law.
