The prosecution office of Georgia has charged one person for the murder of two people. The heinous crime occurred in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia. The crime took the lives of two people. The accused person was arrested by law enforcement agencies and is in custody. Now, the charges have been framed to initiate the trial proceedings.
It is worth noting that after receiving information about the crime, the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a preliminary investigation.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the alleged incident occurred on June 5 in the populated locality of Georgia. It also revealed that at the same time, the investigation also established that on June 5, in Tbilisi, the accused injured two people by causing multiple injuries on different parts of the body with several shots from a firearm.
The victim person died on the spot after receiving a serious injury. After the preliminary investigation concluded, the law enforcement office officials arrested the accused on the same day. Later the official law enforcement officer charged him under a different provision of the Georgian criminal code. He was charged under subsection “L” of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
Article 109 (read with section “L”) describes the offense of the premeditated murder of two persons. These legal provision are very strict and if after the conclusion of the trail the accused person is found guilty by the court they can be sentenced to 16 to 20 years of jail or life imprisonment.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor’s office applied to the court with a motion to use imprisonment powers as a preventive measure within the time limit set by the law. The motion aimed to prevent the accused from tampering with evidence associated with the crime.
