Georgia: The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has indicted one person with the facts of illegal purchase, storage, and attempted sale of huge amounts of narcotics (drugs) on May 1, 2025, Thursday.
The Georgian Prosecution Service shared the details of this crime through its official Facebook Page on Thursday. It is worth noting that the police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia conducted an in-depth investigation into this case, and revealed that the person who was found with a large amount of drugs is a citizen of Georgia.
According to the details shared by the Georgian Prosecution Service, it should be noted that the Georgian Prosecution Service stated, “the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs revealed that the defendant, who was convicted of a drug crime, has illegally purchased and kept the drug “Alpha PVP“, which he was selling.”
The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has charged and arrested that person with the facts of illegal acquisition, storage, and sale of narcotics.
It should be noted that the detainee was charged under Parts 1 and 4 of Article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (the version in force until May 1, 2025), which provides for up to 15 years of imprisonment as a form and measure of punishment. Georgian law is very strict against drug-related offenses.
Notably, there is huge public support for the law enforcement agency for these drives to make the country drug-free and it should also be noted that the Prosecutor’s Office will also apply to the Telavi District Court within the time limit established by law with a motion to impose imprisonment on the defendant as a preventive measure.
