Tbilisi: While spearheading their fight against the anti-social elements, the officials of the Georgian prosecutor’s office have filed charges against seven criminals. They are accused of illegally possessing government land without any right to do so.
The Prosecution office has been working in this direction for a long time. In the past years they have also unearthed many such scammers. The office representative took to their social media handles to inform the public about this development as well.
According to the official, they will do their best to collect evidence and ensure strong punishment for all accused. Moreover, we will request the honorable court to pronounce exemplary punishment, which will be a lesson for all not to do any such criminal act in the future.
It is worth mentioning that all the other people committed fraud through mutual conspiracy. They created an organized gang and forged documents with criminal intent.
After receiving the information, the Prosecutor’s office has launched investigation. The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia revealed the crime committed by an organized group.
It charged seven people with the facts of taking a large amount of state-owned land worth 780 thousand GEL, official forgery and making fake official documents.
Georgia’s prosecutor’s office completed the investigation in this regard. The office’s investigation revealed that they have posed 70000 m2 of land. The land is located near the Kutaisi International Airport.
They took money from people residing in Georgia. After the investigation, the law enforcers arrested four people on November 6. Three of these four people were charged with fraud.
However, one person has been charged with fraud and providing assistance for crime Georgia. At the same time, three members have been booked for forging the documents.
As per the Georgian criminal code, if a crime is proved after trial, the defendant can be sentenced to a minimum of six years to a maximum of ten years. An investigation is also underway to identify other people who are responsible for the crime.
