Georgia:Â At the exit session, the Rural Development Agency (RDA) presented the previous year’s activity report, i.e., 2023, to the Committee of Agrarian Affairs.
The city Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture, Tengiz Nasaridze, attended the meeting of the Agrarian Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Georgia held in Mtskheta.Â
Director of Rural Development Agency Davit Tsitlidze informed MPs about projects and programs implemented in 2023 and introduced the planned events for this year. As part of the outdoor meeting, a meeting was held with local farmers and entrepreneurs.
According to Tengiz Nasaridze, active communication with a representative of the field is important for responding to needs immediately.
Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture Tengiz Nasaridze said, “Several state programs are being implemented by the Agency for Rural Development, which benefit tens of thousands of beneficiaries.”Â
The minister also said, “This support is the result of increased production and export rates of agricultural products. It is important to note that the Agrarian Committee, which presented the detailed report of 2023 to the Agency for Rural Development, has positively assessed the activities of the agency,”Â
Members of the Agrarian Committee, during their visit to the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, visited the almond garden built by beneficiary companies of the Rural Development Agency, Ltd “Food Alliance” bread and pastry plant and Ltd “Kanda Agrilchari”. According to Gela Samkharauli, Chairman of the Committee of Agrarian Affairs, the Committee continues its regional meetings.
“At the meeting held in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region with local people and representatives of local authorities, we discussed the problems in the region that are worrying the local population. The Committee of Agrarian Issues will mediate these issues with various government agencies,” Gela Samkharauli noted.
According to David Nozadze, the trustee of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti side, it is important that a meeting was held with local farmers. Issues will continue to be worked on in the future, and meetings in this mode will keep the population more informed about the projects and programs the government is implementing.
