A very significant conference held on Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS). This was organised by the Environmental Information and Education Centre of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture in Kutaisi.
The information about this conference was also shared on social media handles by the Environmental Information and Education Centre. The official Facebook page stated, “Regional Conference on Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS), Organized by the Environmental Information and Education Centre of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, the Regional Conference on Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) was held in Kutaisi.”
It also stated that the event was opened by Ekaterine Bendeliani, Deputy Director of the Environmental Information and Education Centre and Lela Mamrikishvili, Inclusive Economic Development Program Officer of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
It is worth to note that the significant conference aimed to bring together key stakeholders to create regional platforms for agricultural knowledge and innovation. The event featured a presentation of the equipment required for the establishment of demonstration plots purchased by the Rural Development Agency within the framework of the project.
The conference was attended by representatives of the Extension Service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, the Administrative the conference was held within the framework of the Environmental Information and Education Centre of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture’s project “Modernization of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) System in Agriculture of Georgia (Phase 3)”.
This project in Georgia is being implemented by the Environmental Information and Education Centre of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, with the support of the Swiss Development Agency (SDC) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The main focus area of this conference is to study the requirement of agriculture sector of Georgia. At the same time in future the innovative measures will also be implemented in this Georgia.The Georgian agriculture sector needs many reforms.
