Borojomi: A World Bank-assisted project to rehabilitate and renovate the Bakuriani Central Holiday Park in Georgia was recently completed. The project completion work was done by the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure with the use of the Municipal Development Fund. The assistance amount provided by the World Bank amounts to 10.2 million GEL.
Davis Tabidze, the executive director of the Municipal Development Fund, reviewed the work after completion. It is to be specifically mentioned that the total area of the park is eight acres, and it has been divided into different parts. These dedicated parts are meant for sports, cultural, recreational activities, etc. The area of the recreational part has more space added now. These extra spaces will be used for activities meant for children and young people.
The park has extra provisions for people with disabilities. So that they do not face any difficulties while accessing the facilities being provided by the park.
The park will also have a kindergarten for the fifty students. The rehabilitation work was carried out by the administration in two phases. Prime Minister also initiated the project in the stages of completion projects under the program “Renewed Regions.”
It is to be added that the first phase of the project was already completed in the month of April. Part of the rehabilitation also consisted of fences, gates, and outdoor lighting systems that to be installed on the houses that are near the streets.
The second phase of rahablition also includes Borjomi, Tavisleba and Agmashenebeli streets. The administration also stated that the completed and ongoing projects will make the resort more comfortable for the visitors and the guests who arrive at the resort in all four seasons of the year.
Notably, the “ Renewed Regions “ is a program which is being funded by the government of Georgia with a total investment of 20.0 million GEL.
