Georgia: The second stage of registration of homeless status applications begins at Batumi City Hall Service Centers in Georgia.
Changes in the homeless registration rules in Batumi Municipality have simplified existing criteria, which allows more people or families in need to be included in the program:
• The term of continuous renting has been changed, and instead of 06 months, one year was defined
• Instead of a single amount of the minimum wage, a double amount was defined
• The number of state border crossings has changed, and at the same time, instead of 24 hours, it has become 15 calendar days.
An application is required to register for homelessness, which must be accompanied by:
• Copy of ID document
• A document that proves relevant status (disability and others) in case of such existence
• Any other document that may confirm the circumstances required for personal registration of homelessness and the information provided by the notifier.
Just in case of the family:
• Copy of family members’ identification documents
• A document that confirms the relevant status of family members (disability and others) if such exists
• The family has the right to provide any other document that may confirm the circumstances required to register as a homeless family and the information provided by the applicant.
Applications will be accepted from August 19 to December 31 this year.
The commission will consider the applications by the law of registration as a homeless individual or family in the Batumi territory and the Georgian legislation.
According to the prescribed rules, individuals/families who meet the requirements for registering as homeless persons/families in the Batumi Municipality will be registered as homeless persons/families.
