 Georgia: The competition has been announced to erect a memorial to honor those who died in Shovi. Registration for the first stage of the competition proposal is now open. The competition has a profound purpose: to establish a memorial in the heart of Oni Municipality Resort Shaw, a testament to the indomitable spirit of those who tragically lost their lives on August 3, 2023. This is our collective effort to immortalize their memory.
The commission created at Oni Municipality Hall, which consists of specialists in the field and family members of the deceased, will evaluate the competition materials and select the winner.
As per the commission’s decision, the project area is defined in Resort Shovi E. Y. Near’ Iron Water‘, where a church is planned to be built in the future. Hence, the memorial design must be environmentally friendly, conceptually harmonious with the cathedral, and thematically aligned with the project’s vision. We look forward to your innovative and thoughtful proposals.
Given public and professional interests, based on the principle of open competitions, the competition’s task is to identify the best sketch work of the memorial and the optimal right-wing proposal for its implementation.
They encourage all interested individuals to participate in the competition, share their ideas, and collectively select the best proposal. This will be a humble tribute to our departed citizens.
Racha-Lechkhum-Lower Svaneti State Trustee Papuna Margvelidze visited the site of the memorial’s placement in Resort Shovi with a World Bank expert geologist, the deputy head of the Department of Geology of the National Environmental Agency, and the mayor of Oni Municipality, Sergi Khideshel.
