The renovated space of the Museum of Local Science of Tetritskaro was officially opened. The mayor of Tetritskaro Municipality, Mikheil Aptsiauri, together with the State Commissioner in Lower Kartli, Ilia Jalaghania, opens the newly rehabilitated museum.
The Tetritskaro Municipality shares glimpses of the renovated space on its official Facebook page on December 28, 2025, Sunday, along with a short note about the event.
It is noteworthy that the Tetritskaro Museum of Science was founded in 1965–1966, and the opening of the rehabilitated museum coincides with the 60th anniversary of its establishment.
During the opening ceremony, speakers emphasize the importance of preserving local history and strengthening cultural and educational institutions in the region. They note that the renewed museum will serve as an important center for learning, research, and community engagement, especially for young people.
Over the years, the museum has played an important role in educational and cognitive activities; however, over time, the building and infrastructure required renovation.
For this purpose, the museum is rehabilitated. Within the framework of the project, the building is renovated and repair and reconstruction works are carried out, including the arrangement of administrative rooms, installation of central heating, rehabilitation of main and auxiliary spaces, and renovation of the conference hall.
Modern exhibition spaces are arranged, and conditions for the protection and preservation of exhibits are significantly improved.
After rehabilitation, the museum becomes a modern cultural space. Its attractiveness for residents, youth, visitors, and tourists is expected to increase, while the renewed infrastructure will contribute to a more effective presentation of cultural heritage and promotion of the history of Tetritskaro.
The Members of the Georgian Parliament, David Sherazadishvili and Goderdzi Chanxeliani, along with representatives of local self-government, attend the opening ceremony.
