Dusheti, Georgia: The National Agency for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Georgia has completed the rehabilitation of the roofs of prisons No35, No36, and No39 in the village of Shatili of Dusheti Municipality.
The agency is conducting a step-by-step rehabilitation of the accident building debris in Shatili. In 2022, the roofs of prisons No.11, No.12, No.13, and No.14 were renewed and bathrooms were restored. In 2023 rehabilitation works on the roofs of prisons No4, No5, No23, No25, and No26 were carried out, and the amortized balcony of prison No52 was removed. Also, the particularly difficult garbage No20 underwent reinforcement works and the roof of the No24 house was renewed.
Rehabilitation works of N35, N36, and N39 prisons have been completed this year. Roofs cleared of vegetation, removed soil, removed damaged mud and rollers, new material to partial double foot peg stone lavgarden, cleaned iron concrete tiles, sanded damaged concrete tiles, and waterproofing layer with roll material. In addition, Jail No.35 removed the damaged timber limbs of the first level cladding, replaced the pillar stone, and replaced the new timber limbs.
The agency spent 149,700 GEL for the listed works. Rehabilitation of prisons of Dusheti municipality was carried out by the company that won the electronic tender – LLC “Architex“.
Shatili Castles are a unique monument of Georgian building art. The village on the rock had the function of a residence and a fortress at the same time. The opposite side of the village is accompanied by garbage prisons and houses, which form a wall.
The construction of the shuttle is terraced, the main types of building garbage are flats and towers. The passages between the bans are noteworthy, through which you could enter the whole village without going out during the enemy’s invasion. The shuttle towers have ruled the northern border of Georgia for centuries.
