Khashuri, Georgia: The rehabilitation of the water supply and sewerage systems is actively underway in Khashuri, with meetings being held intensively in the municipality to discuss the project’s progress.
The initial phase of the project focuses on upgrading the water supply network in Khashuri city center, with plans to enhance the entire city network. The project includes constructing 200 km of water supply infrastructure and 45 km of entirely new pipelines.9 Oct 2024
Meanwhile, in the administrative building, the mayor of Khashuri municipality Tengiz Chitiashvili, the first deputy mayor of Kashuri municipality Zviad Kurdadze, the assistant mayor Merab Barbakadze, the employees of the United Water Supply Company and the contractor of the Turkish company who won the international tender – “JV of YDA Insaat Sanayi Ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi & Ardem Yapi Gayrimenkul Insaat Taahut Akar. Mad. Tic. A. S” met with the representatives.
The meeting served to discuss the details of the project’s progress and to consider the interests of the population more.
It was noted that the company, that won the tender, is obliged to arrange the road infrastructure after the work is done, so first of all, the streets where the project is finished should be arranged.
It is important that after the large-scale works, about 30 000 people in the city of Khashuri, will benefit from a 24-hour water supply and well-organized infrastructure of sewers.
The City of Khashuri Water Supply and Water Supply Project is being funded by the state, with the financial support of the French International Development Agency AFD and EU.
In addition to the water supply and sewerage systems, the project also includes the construction of garbage and pumping stations, highways, and reservoirs, all of which will be funded by the state budget.
