Georgia: In Samgori district, Mikheil Gakhokidze Street is being completely rehabilitated. The capital’s mayor, Kakha Kaladze, and his deputy, Irakli Bendeliani, inspected the underground communications replacement works carried out by the company “Georgian Water and Power.”
In the project’s first phase, the water and sewerage network replacement works will be carried out on the 2400-meter-long street. The City Infrastructure Development Service will begin sewerage network and road works in the second phase.
According to the mayor of Tbilisi, the rehabilitation of Gakhokidze Street will be completed in April.
“The mentioned street was in the worst condition. Everyone who has walked on this street will agree that it is a catastrophic situation. Due to underground communications, the road collapsed and had to be relocated. The works are divided into two stages. The company “Georgia Water and Power” is working in the first stage and has wholly changed underground communications. You can see the scale of work going on. These works will be completed by October; the City Infrastructure Development Service will begin the road works. The project will be completed in April, – said Kakha Kaladze.
Giorgi Abutidze, Head of the Civil Service for Infrastructure Development, Samgori District Governor Kakha Samkharadze, and Majority Deputy of Tbilisi City Council Revaz Sokhadze were also present.
