The rehabilitation of Atskuri Street in Isani District has begun. The street is one of main are of district where one can find apartments and other properties for sale or rent on affordable rates with ease.
As per the information, which was provided by the municipality, rehabilitation works will be carried out on the existing road section from Lekh Kaczynski Street to Vazha Chachava Street. At this stage, the renovation of water supply, sewage and gas supply networks is underway, after which the Infrastructure Development Department of the Tbilisi City Hall will begin road works.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, together with Deputy Mayor Irakli Bendeliani, inspected the initial stage of the works. He hopes that the work will be completed within short time.
The mayor during inspection at site added, “We have started the implementation of another important infrastructure project. Atskuri Street, which is quite busy was in a very poor condition. Underground communications were practically destroyed, which caused damage to the roadway and made driving a car a huge problem. Within the framework of the project, everything is completely changing.”
“First of all, the company “Georgian Water and Power” is working, which will fully repair the water and sewage systems. The gas supply network will also be renewed. Then the Infrastructure Development City Service will be involved in the work, which will organize the drainage network, underlined Mayor.
He further said, the electrical wires will be placed underground, lighting poles with LED lights will be installed, a sidewalk will be arranged, and the area will be adapted for people with disabilities. We think we will complete the work in July.”
In addition, within the framework of the project, asphalt will be laid on the roadway, zebra crossings will be drawn and parking spaces will be arranged. The head of the Infrastructure Development City Service Giorgi Abutidze and majoritarian deputy of the City Council Kakha Labuchidze were at the site together with the mayor of Tbilisi.
