Khashuri: Rehabilitation work to restore normal life after natural disasters is in full swing in the Khashuri Municipality. Large-scale damage was caused by natural disasters like rain, snowfall, windstorms, etc.
It is to be specifically mentioned that unstable and unexpected rain and thunderstorms damage many rooftops of houses and block the road and connecting roads.
It is to be noted that rehabilitation work has started in the morning. A large number of workers have been deployed by the authorities to complete the work on time. The Mayor of the municipality Tengiz Chitiashvili is also present on site. The State Commissioner of Shida Kartli Mikheil Shakulashvili and First Deputy Commissioner Simon Guledani were informed about the progress of the works as well. All relevant municipal services and organisations have been mobilised to make the progress of work effective as well.
Notably due to difficult meteorological conditions heavy rainfall and strong wind created problems in the city of Khashuri and municipality villages. Roofs were damaged, electrical transmission lines were out of order, gas supply was delayed in some areas. Trees fell in several places due to strong winds. High water flooded roads, residential yards and industrial plots. In some areas, water has also reached residential houses.
In some areas, the heavy rain has caused a flood-like situation. Some connecting bridges were also damaged due to the heavy flow of rainwater which caused problems for the community to visit their destinations as well.
Meanwhile the restoration of damaged power plants has begun. Ongoing work is being delayed by bad weather. However, everything is being done to restore electricity supply to the population gradually. Works are also underway to restore the gas supply so that people do not face problems anymore.
The municipality authorities have also been mobilised and works are underway to eliminate problems caused by floods. All possible measures are being taken to prevent further complications.
