Georgia: The Villages of Gorsheghmi Valley in Khevsureti – Zekkhadu, Zekkhadu, and Zeistecho were electrified. Electricity supply works, on the initiative of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, were completed by SS “Energo-Pro Georgia”.
The mayor of Dusheti municipality, Kakhaber Chitauri, and Mtskheta-Mtianeti State Commissioner, Gocha Kavtaradze, together with other representatives of the self-government, inspected the newly built electricity network in the villages of Barisakho administrative unit.
The Dusheti Municipality City Hall shared the glimpses of the visit on its official Facebook Page on November 6, 2025, Thursday. The City Hall also shared a small note about their visit, along with its glimpses.
“The electrification of these villages was done with the direct involvement of the Prime Minister of Georgia. Electricity here is like never before. About 70% of the Dusheti municipality is highland. One of the main goals of our team is to bring the mountain back to the mountain. This will be the strength of our country. ” Kakhaber Chitauri said.
According to local government officials, coordinated work with the central government will continue to improve the living conditions of the population.
Gocha Kavtaradze said, “One of the priorities of the government is the development of highland settlements. Electrification of villages is an important step in a social sense. Electricity supply creates new opportunities, promotes rural development, resettlement, and retrieval.”
He added, “Our goal is to have equal conditions in all villages of Mtskheta-Mtianeti, both in terms of infrastructure and access to social services. We know that we have some challenges in this direction; however, with all the relevant authorities involved, appropriate measures are being taken actively.”
