The UNDP Georgia has shared success story of Rima Bolkvadze, a women entrepreneur from Adjara’s Khulo town. The UNDP (United Nation Development Program) is implementing many projects in Georgia including schemes for women’s’ empowerment.
The official Facebook page of UNDP Georgia stated that, “Welcome to Rima’s House, a family-run hotel in the beautiful highlands of Adjara in Khulo. The spirit of this warm and inviting hotel will enhance your trip there. The hotel is being owned and run by active entrepreneur Rima Bolkvadze.”
It further added, “Rima’s House offers not only meals and accommodation, but also transportation services, hiking tours, traditional Adjara cooking master classes and picnics for visitors as well.”
While speaking about success of his entry in hospitality sector She said, “My desire is to share an authentic and cozy family experience with my guests, while creating jobs, supporting farmers and inspiring young people living in the mountainous Adjara region with my homestay.”
It is worth to note that she is one of hundreds of female entrepreneurs in different parts of Georgia who are benefiting from grants and other assistance under the UN Joint Programme for Gender Equality, funded by the Government of Sweden.
The Georgian government also have been implementing many program and welfare schemes for upliftment especially who are living in rural areas of Georgia. Similarly, UNDP Georgia in coordination of local Non-government organisation and civil society organisation is implement many such programs which are helping women to launch their own start-ups and others initiative as well.
The Georgian government is planning to launch more such program to help women who are living in rural area in far flung area. The different government ministries have coordinated with private sector player to bring a significant change in women’s life.
The UNDP Georgia’s story about Rima received huge appreciation from social media users. They laud Government initiative for women empowerment in country which will ultimately help to build equality in society.
The women organisation of Georgia also welcome efforts of UNDP Georgia as well. Some women activist expressed same views while lauding decision of government.
