A regular session of the Rustavi City Council was held, presided over by Council Chairman Mamuka Rekhviashvili. Before discussing the agenda, the Chairman of the City Council made a statement and focused on issues of importance and current relevance to the city.Â
During the meeting, it was noted that road and street rehabilitation, the structural reinforcement and restoration of residential buildings, and urban environment improvements are actively proceeding in Rustavi.Â
Also, the projects to renovate historical districts and buildings in critical condition are of particular importance; among these are the ongoing works on Rustaveli and Tbilisi streets.
Although these ongoing processes entail some inconvenience, it is important to recognize that they are successfully resolving fundamental issues that have plagued our city for decades.
The meeting approved the changes planned in the 2026 budget. The Council members endorsed road infrastructure projects initiated by City Hall, which will be implemented on several city streets with government funding.
With the support of the council members, the list and plan for the privatization of municipal properties were approved, as were the detailed development plan projects submitted by development companies for the construction of multi-apartment residential buildings within the city.
Changes have been made regarding the mandate of City Hall’s Property Management and Economic Development Service. The Economic Development Department is authorized to organize and administer meetings with representatives of cities, diplomatic corps, and embassies that maintain friendly relations with Rustavi Municipality.
