Georgia: The meeting of the Board of Directors of Vocational Educational Institutions was held in Rustavi, at the college “Modus“. Notably, the meeting was held under the leadership of Georgian Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Givi Mikanadze.
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia shared the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook Page on November 21, 2025, Friday. The Ministry also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.
During the meeting, Minister Givi Mikanadze emphasized that strengthening vocational institutions is the main focus, as these colleges play a major role in preparing a skilled workforce that meets the demands of the modern labour market.
At the meeting, the Minister provided information to the participants about the main directions of the fundamental reform of higher education, which was publicly presented by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
As Givi Mikanadze noted, it is important to promote the development and strengthening of vocational education while implementing the reform. The meeting also focused on important issues such as funding for colleges to improve infrastructure and providing resources for institutional development.
The meeting was conducted in question-and-answer mode, and the participants had the opportunity to get comprehensive information from the Minister on current issues. The Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Baia Kvitsiani, representatives of the Ministry, and heads of colleges attended the meeting of the Council.
By the decision of the Minister, the Council meets regularly and at each meeting, the members will discuss step-by-step on all initiatives aimed at strengthening the vocational education system, expanding the opportunities of students, and the economic development of the country.
