Rustavi’s traditional festival “Oxygen”, which is being held for the fourth time this year, opened with the ceremony of awarding gold and silver medalists.
On the initiative of the Mayor of Rustavi Nino Latsabidze, pupils of the city who graduated from public school with gold and silver medals will receive encouraging cash awards and other gifts starting in 2022. Traditionally, a festive reception is held especially for them.
Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Givi Mikanadze personally congratulated the gold and silver medalists on successful completion of the school at the event held in Rustavi Central Park.
The event was attended by Vladimir Bozhadze, member of the Parliament’s Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, Levan Kharabadze, State Trustee in Lower Kartli, Rustavi’s delegate Irakli Shatakishvili, members of the city council faction “Georgian Dream”, directors of public schools, teachers, parents, and other guests.
“Tutarchela” opened on the first day of the musical part of “Oxygen”.
Due to inclement weather, the participants of the festival, “Tutarchela”, “Geobit Production”, and “Frani”, will take the stage at Oxygen today.
On “Oxygen” in front of Rustaveli and festival guests, today will also be present: “Despani” and Malkhaz Khonelidze, “Ocho’s Hut”, Muro Gagoshidze, and the group REGGAEON.
The festival space of Oxygen Festival has restrooms and food facilities, and exhibitions and sales of handmade items by local entrepreneurs. Traditionally, a fish fest is also held on the unique lake of Rustavi Central Park.
Nino Latsabidze stated, “Our gold and silver medalists, the young people we awarded today, want them to know that our Rustavi and Georgia are proud of their success.”
“Oxygen” was held in Rustavi for the first time in 2022. The festival is being conducted in full compliance with safety standards, and entrance to the festival space is free for visitors this year,” she added.
