The Mayor of the Sagarejo Municipality of Georgia Avtandil Gulikashvili along with other municipality representatives distributed stationery items. He distributed the help to students and helped the children of families in the target groups.
It is worth mentioning that as per the decision of the Mayor of Sagarejo Municipality Avtandil Gulikashvili a plan to help the students was prepared. The help will be provided to students who need to complete their studies successfully for the coming 2024-25 academic year. The needy students were given school bags and educational stationery including notebooks, pens, pencils, markers, a sharpener, and an eraser.
At the event to distribute the aid Mayor Avtandil Gulikashvili congratulated the students on the start of the academic year and personally gave them gifts. Sharing his views on the occasion the Mayor said “There are days when we are filled with unexpected emotions and with a feeling of hope, solidarity and support. We are with you.”
The Municipality has long provided help to needy students aiming to uplift their education level. The children were thrilled to receive the new school bags and stationery items and some of their parents were also present. The mayor further added “We gave school supplies to students who needed exceptional support from us. We introduced this initiative last year and now it has become a kind of tradition that will be followed in the next few years.
It is to be noted that due to the non-availability of necessary and basic facilities many children suffer and face difficulties in getting the knowledge of basic education. The Mayor further added that these efforts to help the students will continue in the future as well so that no children suffer from a lack of basic educational facilities.
On the other hand the parents of these children who received help expressed their gratitude to the Municipal administration , especially the Mayor. They said this is a noble initiative to help needy students of locality.
