Sagarejo Municipality, Georgia: The residents of Sagarejo Municipality are anticipating a major change in their infrastructure with the Gagmaubani settlement’s Kikvidze Street and drainage system commencement, which is scheduled for construction in the coming weeks.
Avtandil Gulikashvili, the mayor of Sagarejo Municipality, and his first deputy Emzari Kuchuashvili, drove to the location to inspect the site for preliminary works involving the asphalting process. The Sagarejo Municipality City Hall published the project’s details and photos from the visit to the site on their Facebook page on April 2, 2025.
Their attendance underscored the necessity of attending to the needs for this work. They also spoke with the locals and the contractor to hear what they had to say regarding this development.
Alongside the access road to Gagmauvani—the densely populated center—Zvari contains a notable hub and is connected by the Kikvidze Street as it sits on the opposite side.
For years the people of the community have needed infrastructure improvement, noted by the Mayor of Sagarejo Municipality. “This is a historical fact,” he remarked. Not only does the project attempt to satisfy the long overdue infrastructural needs of the area but shows further commitment to enhance local infrastructure considered in the municipal budget planning.
Funds allocated for development of Kikvidze Street
It is important to remark that the government allocated 505,505 GEL out of state and municipal funds for the said project. This goes to highlight government intent to enhance the living standards and ease of access for people of Sagarejo considering the funds being spent for improving infrastructure used by residents.
Significance of the project
In addition, the asphalting works are key to ensuring ease of movement and connection of Gagmaubani and bordering regions. The changes planned for Kikvidze Street are expected to allow for better movement, improved response times for emergency services, and economic growth by assistance to local businesses.
