Castries, Saint Lucia: The Deputy Prime Minister and the minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Industries, Ernest Hilaire, attended the 81st meeting of the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Tourism Organization(CTO) in Curacao. As Hilaire noted, the main agenda of the meeting revolved around developing the Caribbean as a perennial tourist destination which remains accessible throughout the year. Moreover, it looked to make the country a tourist attraction to visit around the year.
The Deputy PM stated that he was really delighted to be a part of the meeting that took place in Curacao.
Adding further, Hilaire stated that the meeting turned out to be a fruitful and productive one. The Board of Directors updated the Saint Lucian Minister of Tourism about the deeds that have been followed in Saint Lucia following their last meeting.
Hilaire, about the meeting, wrote in a Facebook post – “The meeting today was very productive as we received updates from our discussions at the last meeting and charted the way forward as we go into the calendar year 2023.”
The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia has always been on the front foot in the activities for the development of the country as a hub of tourism. Last week,Ernest Hilaire met with the Ambassador of Taiwan(Republic of China), Peter Chan and the Taiwan International Cooperation Development, during which they concluded the training programme for storytellers to boost them to share their own personal experiences in Saint Lucia’s local communities. Additionally, Hilaire presented the findings and observations to the staff of the ministry.
The proactive approach followed by the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia has been pushing the country forward on the path of holistic development.
