Philip J Pieree the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia has appointed Jeremiah Norbert as new minister. New Minister Jeremiah Norbert has been assigned with the portfolio of crime reduction.
Jeremiah Norbert is a former law enforcement official. Prime Minister while appointing him as minister expressed hopes that the experience of Jeremiah Norbert as a law enforcement official will be useful for the smooth functioning of the Ministry of Crime Reduction.
Prime Minister Philip J Pierre also took to his social media handles to provide the information regarding this latest development.
PM Pierre stated on his Facebook post that “ I have assigned the portfolio of Crime Reduction to the newly appointed Minister Jeremiah Norbert. He was a successful law enforcement official who is now tasked with leading this Ministry”
PM further added “I wish as Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Jeremiah Norbert will work closely with me in fighting this scourge of criminality. I will continue to hold the portfolio of National Security”.
PM also stated that “As you are aware many in our society live with some form of disability but continue to strive to play a meaningful role in the development of our country. It is the policy of our government to provide all its citizens the enabling environment to achieve their full potential. I have assigned this portfolio to Jeremiah Norbert who is an embodiment of the talent and potential of people living with disabilities”.
The Saint Lucia Government is determined to reduce the level of gun violence in Saint Lucia. The new Minister is expected to focus on all suggestions, ideas, and methods that are aimed at crime prevention and reduction.
PM assures to provide the police with resources and equipment to bring any unacceptable situation under control. The PM also called on all Saint Lucians to align with the necessary objective of making the island nation a safe place to live and work.
