Philip J Pierre lauds the organization of a semi-professional football league hosted on Sunday, March 10. The PM also meets the Marchand Football League Executive and hands over monetary assistance for the help of teams.
Notbay the hosting of the Semi-Pro Football League is all set to invite football fans, and families who want to experience the thrill of live sports and entertainment.
PM Philip J Pierre also took to his social media handles and provided the information in this regard. PM Pierre wrote in a Facebook post “ Today our citizens will witness the commencement of the games for the Semi-Professional Football League at the Mindoo Phillip Park from 2:00 PM. Moreover the sports lovers will have the opportunity to see the performance of their favorite player”.
PM Pierre further stated “As the Parliamentary Representative for Castries East constituency I had the pleasure of hosting a small ceremony to hand over sports kits and a monetary donation to assist the various teams and sports clubs. I also met the Marchand Football League Executive as they continue to volunteer their time to the community and sports development in Saint Lucia.
Additionally Prime Minister added “My administration will continue to invest in the young people of this country to provide them best opportunities in sports and other fields allowing them to turn their hobbies into entrepreneurship and skills into business. Let us support our youth in these noble pursuits”.
Meanwhile, social media users also appreciated PM Pieere’s dedication to the upliftment of sports culture. One user Alison Skeete commented, “Bravo to Philip Joseph Pierre”. Similarly, another user Patrick Lammie while commenting on the PM’s Facebook post wrote that “ok well I will be back to watch football again at Marchand”.
On the other hand, Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire attended the opening ceremony of the Semi-Pro football league. At the opening Ceremony the Deputy PM congratulated the players and stated “The semi-pro league will provide opportunities for our football players to showcase their skills and talent. Go well, players”.
