Samtredia celeberates new year’s eve

The administration of the Government of Georgia is organizing a grand New Year’s Eve celebration in Samtredia, a town in the western part of the country. The event will take place in the central square, where a stage has already been installed for various performances and shows.

Samtredia, Georgia: The administration of the Government of Georgia is organizing a grand New Year’s Eve celebration in Samtredia, a town in the western part of the country. The event will take place in the central square, where a stage has already been installed for various performances and shows.

The celebration will start at 14:00 with an orchestra and costume heroes march, followed by a Christmas market offering local produce, handicrafts, mulled wine, cinnamon cookies, and hot chocolate. The market will be open until 19:00.

Children will have a unique space to participate in a New Year toys workshop from 14:00 to 18:00. They will also enjoy a children’s concert of local performers from 14:30 to 15:00 and an animators’ program from 15:00 to 16:00.

At 16:00, a festive procession of fairy tale heroes will begin, leading to a meeting with Santa Claus at 17:30. A walking orchestra show will entertain the crowd from 17:30 to 17:45.

The highlight of the evening will be the performances of famous Georgian singers and musicians from 18:00 to 20:00. The lineup includes “Rezo and Children” Master, Keti Gomarteli, Tato Goderdzishvili, Tako Melikishvili, Mari Amanmedishvili and Giorgi Elizbarashvili.

The celebration will end with a spectacular fireworks display at 20:00, marking the arrival of the new year 2024.

The event is expected to attract thousands of visitors from Samtredia and nearby regions and tourists who want to experience Georgian culture and hospitality. The organizers invite everyone to the celebration and wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year.

Samtredia is a town in Imereti, Georgia, lying in a lowland between the rivers Rioni and Tskhenis-Tsqali, 244 km west of the capital Tbilisi, and 27 km west of Georgia’s third largest city Kutaisi. Georgia’s most important roads and railways converge there, making Samtredia the country’s vital transport hub.
