Georgia: Samtskhe-Javakheti State University Scientific Library held a conference of English Philology students of the Faculty of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, “Discover America”, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
The Rector of Samtskhe-Javakheti State University, Professor Maka Beridze, congratulated students on this beautiful day, noted the role and importance of English Philology in the university’s life, discussed the conference’s importance, and wished them success. Guliko Bekauri, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Maia Kukchishvili, Head of the Quality Assurance Service of the same Faculty, welcomed the conference participants.
The conference’s working language was English, which was doubly productive for both the students and the audience. Students interestingly presented the conference topics: teen life, the election system, emerging presidents, the education system, the history of the American flag, holidays, sports, impressions of America, and more. The conference was held in a calm and friendly environment, and the attendees were very interested.
Guliko Bekaur, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, Professors Tina Gelashvili and Guliko Janova, Associate Professor Lali Beridze, and Assistant of the Fulbright Program Hannah Bradstein summarized the conference. They thanked the students and wished them success.
Certificates were given to the conference participants.
At the end of the event, a lottery was played, and the lucky part of the attending students “won the lottery” books, which were given to the winners by Akhaltsikhe American Space (head Zaira Kapanadze-Kelaptrishvili) and Associate Professor Maka Murvanidze.
Professor Gulnara Janova and Associate Professor Maka Murvanidze organized the conference for students of English Philology.
