School Teachers Receive Certificates and Textbooks from MePA

The ministry of environmental protection and agriculture have conferred certificate and textbook to teachers. This initiative was taken by ministry to raise awareness on environmental issues.

The ministry of environmental protection and agriculture have conferred certificate and textbook to teachers. This initiative was taken by ministry to raise awareness on environmental issues.

This was also aimed to integrate the environmental and agrarian topics into primary school curricula of country. This will also ensure young learners develop a foundational understanding of sustainability and ecological responsibility.

Tamar Aladashvili, who is the director of the Environmental Information and Education Centre recently met with primary-level teachers from Tbilisi’s public schools. These are the teachers who had successfully completed the program’s training.

The minister at this impressive event personally presented certificates and supporting textbooks to the educators. This was aimed to acknowledge their commitment to enriching students’ environmental awareness.

The supporting textbook under theme of “Environmental and Agrarian Education at School,” was developed by the Environmental Information and Education Centre.

These books have been specifically designed for teachers who teaches little kids of class I to VI, it covers a range of essential topics, including sustainable development, biodiversity conservation.

Similarly, it also covers the water and air protection, climate change mitigation, waste management, and sustainable agriculture.

It is also worth noting that besides Tbilisi teachers the educators from the Sagarejo Municipality also received textbooks and certificates form ministry.

The event in Sagarejo was attended by Archil Jabadari, Head of the Sagarejo Education, Culture, Monument Protection, Sports and Youth Affairs Service, and Lela Panrizishvili, Head of the Sagarejo Educational Resource Centre.

Their presence underscored the local government’s support for integrating environmental education into the region’s school programs.

The Environmental Information and Education Centre of Georgia since long has been implementing this initiative while focusing on training primary school teachers across Georgia.

Over the past three years, more than 7,000 teachers have benefited from the program who have acquired the skills necessary to educate students on environmental sustainability and agricultural best practices.

The ongoing initiative of teacher training ensures that the next generation of students receives quality education on crucial environmental issues.

By fostering awareness and practical knowledge at an early age, the program aims to create a more environment friendly conscious and responsible society.
