Georgia: A seminar “Apple sowing-forming and agrotechnological characteristics of apple harvesting” was held at the Jighaura Vision Collection Garden of SIP Agriculture Scientific and Research Center on February 14, 2025, Friday.
The Seminar was led by the head of the Vision Research Service Zviad Bobokashvili. The training participants gained practical and immediately applicable knowledge about the identification of harmful diseases of apples, phases of phenological development of given crops, and climate risk management approaches.
Attendees of the seminar also received valuable insights about the research and scientific projects of the Science and Research Center in the field of integrated vegetable, vineyard, and plant protection.
The teaching included modern progressive methods of apple pruning and the conceptual formation of a 2D orchard. The training included the practical part, where the participants learned the possibilities of practical use of theoretically discussed sitting-forming methods.
These seminars, conducted by the Scientific and Research Center for farmers and stakeholders, promote the dissemination of theoretical and practical knowledge as well as the implementation of new technologies.
It should be noted that such events serve to enhance the practical skills of farmers, as well as other stakeholders, deepen the knowledge of young staff, and help them to better manage their professional activities.
After completing the theoretical part of the training, the participants moved to the vineyard plot, engaged in the process of planting different forms of apples, and received exhaustive answers to their interesting questions.
This hands-on experience provided to students was the main highlight of the training, as the students actively participated in vineyard pruning exercises. This practical part allowed them to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting, gaining valuable skills that are necessary for success in the agricultural sector.
