Senaki, Georgia: The play “Chipolino’s Adventure” was performed at Senaki Akaki Khorava Professional State Dramatic Theater with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia and Senaki Municipality City Hall.
The Georgian Minister of Culture and Sports, Thea Tsulukiani, attended the Premiere with representatives of the local government and theatre society.
“Cippolino’s Adventure” is a musical, costume-made fairy tale with beautiful songs, dances and comedic dialogues in which Italian writer Gianni Rodari’s fictional protagonist – a kind and naive onion-boy named Chipolino, fights with his friends against villain heroes, defeats and defeats them. The fairy tale is a conscious character that teaches children friendship, loyalty, love, and the difference between good and evil.
The author and director of the staging is Senaki Theater’s artistic director and director, Vakhtang Nikolava; the script and painting belong to Ivango Chelidze, Emil Gegenava and Malkhaz Korkachonjia; the composer and the author of the lyrics is Kote Malania, the choreographer – Gia Marghania, the costume artist is Sophie Chalashvili, the costumes were sewn by Maka Kilasonia; the assistant director is Lali Gabelaia.
Participating in the play: Irakli Adam, Tariel Zurabashvili, Lado Kokaia, Zurab Zurabashvilli, Jambul Chanturia, Lali Gabelaia, Elguja Nodaridze, Eka Kogua, Tamar Abshilava-Kobakhidze, Giorgi Murusidze, Zviad Zurabashville, Raul Kikaleishvili, Diana Turkey, Amiran Malania and Anastasia Zukhbaia.
The pupils of Senaki Akaki Khorava Professional State Dramatic Theater and Dimitri Jayan Cultural Center Joint School-Studio also attend the performance.
After the performance, the Minister of Culture visited the Museum in Senaki Dramatic Theater, which was renewed in the Ministry’s competition – “Promotion of Museum Activities in Dramatic Theatres under the Ministry’s Administration” – one of the winners of the project, in particular, museum material was recovered, electronic archive was created, exhibition space was arranged.
The competition was held for the first time in 2023, and its purpose is to improve the functioning of museums in dramatic theatres under the Ministry’s administration, arrange infrastructure, equip material-technical bases, replenish funds, restore exhibits, and arrange museum values. The museums of dramatic theatres must create and preserve the history of Georgian theatre, directing-acting, and scenography.
