Georgia: In the historical homeland of Levili, with the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia and the support of the Government of Georgia, the Georgian Festival of Levili continues with exciting and diverse cultural and sports events.

On July 7, at the end of today’s seventh festival week, Maya Jabua, Eka Kakhian, and Temur Tatarashvili held a joint concert. She performed Georgian stage songs that the audience missed.

Guests saw the joint performance of Samtredia and Dmanisi theaters, “12 Angry Men” (director Giorgi Sikharulidze). The co-production was created by the joint work of Vepkia Nadiradze, Director of Samtredia’s Eros Manjgaladze Dramatic Theater and Dmanisi’s Zinaida Kverenchkhiladze, Artistic Director Giorgi Sikharulidze.

The event ended with ensemble “Batumi” choreographic numbers. Viewers saw traditional dances from different parts of Georgia.

Georgian handball player Mariam Chavchidze and former member of the national team Lana Margiani held an exhibition game for the guests of the festival. Meetings were held with wrestlers and judoists, who conducted a masterclass and showed the guests interesting martial arts tricks.

Levili Georgian Festival continues to attract both Georgian and foreign viewers’ interest and deserves a lot of appreciation.

As it is known, Levili’s homeland hosts the Georgian festival every weekend from May 24 to July 14. The festival is being held for the second time, and unlike the previous year, the length and number of participants have increased. This year, for the first time in Levili’s homeland, May 26 was celebrated on a particularly large scale. Every week, several foreigners or French citizens visit the festival. Among the guests at the events are Georgian immigrants living in France.

More than 700 artists and athletes will participate in this year’s two-month festival, including folk and choreographic ensembles from different regions, municipal state theaters, and creative groups. Several sports (rugby, football, hairdressing, chess, Georgian martial arts) have competitions or exhibition dueling. For the first time, wood artisans, writers, and art academy students participated in the festival.

It is essential that Levili’s historic homeland hosted the Academy of Art’s master’s and undergraduate students of sculpture for the first time this year. Seven students have been visiting the Ministry of Culture’s first creative residence outside Georgia for several weeks. The works they created there will be permanently placed in the Motherland Park.

For information: The supporters of the Georgian festival are the National Wine Agency and “Geovine Trading” LLC.
