Georgia: First Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia Shalva Gogoladze met members and coaches of the Georgian under-18 rugby team at the Shevardenithe Shevardeni base.
Shalva Gogoladze congratulated the rugby players on winning the title of “Rugby Europe” champion for the sixth time in a row and wished them success. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Georgian Rugby Union.
The Georgian team defeated Spain 32:11 in the final of Rugby Europe, held in Prague, the Czech capital. Junior “Borjgalosni” defeated Germany in the quarterfinals, and in the semifinals, they won the Netherlands.
It is remembered that this year for the first time in history junior “Borjghalosni” competed at the Six Nations Festival of Under 18. The team also took part in the South Africa Under 18 international series.
The rugby players signed the team’s T-shirt, which will be given to the Georgian Sports Museum in celebration of “Rugby on Europe”‘s victory. They remind the public that the Ministry of Sports was established on the custom that, following victory in significant international tournaments, Georgian athletes will sign their sporting goods and inventory for the Sports Museum.
Georgia’s chances of competing in international rugby tournaments have improved as a result of the team’s triumph. The team’s ability to compete against more tough teams has been shown by this victory, and supporters are excitedly expecting their next performances.

U18 Rugby Europe Championship 2024
This year’s competition will take place in Prague, Czechia, and will feature 8 teams including the hosts, Georgia, the title holder, Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, Romania, Belgium, Germany, and Portugal with each team playing 3 matches.
