Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili met with representatives of civil society organizations.
At the meeting, which was held in the format of the Georgian platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, 12 recommendations of the European Commission and the involvement of the civil sector in the implementation of these recommendations were discussed.
Shalva Papuashvili focused on the active involvement of sectoral organizations in the work plan and work process.
He emphasized the importance of close and fruitful cooperation between the Parliament and the civil sector.
“It was a really important and interesting meeting. All issues should be accompanied by cooperation with the civil sector and ensuring their involvement – this is one of the points of the recommendations. At such a time, it is especially important to pay more attention to the formats of cooperation, to hold the tools to be as inclusive as possible. Quality, which is a good prerequisite for making the right decisions. Therefore, I think that this is one of the most important issues in society that was discussed at today’s meeting. As for specific details and specific decisions regarding individual issues, none of these have been identified at this stage, regarding which I can tell you today that I drew a line as a result. The main thing is that the inclusive process itself, the degree of inclusiveness is quite high, increased, productive; therefore, this is what deserves to be appreciated and evaluated positively”, said Mikheil Sarjveladze, Chairman of the Human Rights Protection and Civil Integration Committee after the meeting.
The Chairman of the Human Rights Protection and Civil Integration Committee, Mikheil Sarjveladze, the Chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee, Anri Okhanashvili and representatives of non-governmental organizations took part in the meeting.g
