Tbilisi:Â Simon Sebag Montefiore, a famous writer, historian, and Television presenter of Britain, visited the capital city of Georgia, Tbilisi. He held the meeting with the representative of the art and culture to promote it in Georgia.
It is worth mentioning that a meeting organised by the Cinema Center was held at the Writers’ House, and representatives of cinema, literature and museums, and academic circles attended it.
Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia, Acting Director of the National Cinema Center Koba Khubunaia, Head of the Filmmaking Department of the National Center of Cinematography of Georgia Bacho Odisharia and Ketevan Dumbadze, Director of the Georgian Writers’ House, also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the participants of the conference talk about the work of the author, and ways to adapt documentary prose and literary works to film.Â
The meeting was held in question-and-answer mode. The attendees were also given a chance to ask questions and get them resolved on the spot.
The famous British author is very popular in the fields of literature, television and film circles. The purpose of his visit to Georgia is to share his knowledge and experience related to the art industry with the audience.
It is to be noted that Simon Sebag Montefiori’s books have become the world’s bestseller. His works have been published in 34 languages so far, which highlights his excellent artistic skill. The historical book “Catherine the Great and Potemkin” was presented at the Samuel Johnson, Daph Cooper and Marsh Awards, which is also the greatest achievement of the author.
