Georgia: The Prosecution Service of Georgia announced that 47 criminal cases involving alleged crimes committed during the pre-election period and on Election Day. They are being investigated within the Georgian Prosecutor’s Office with the help of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Special Investigation Service (SIS).

The investigation was started based on the actions of the opposition and ruling parties, the Central Election Commission, and NGOs, as well as the information disseminated by the media.

Investigative agencies are intensively investigating and interrogating people informed and concerned about the alleged crimes committed in the election process. Relevant experts have been appointed, video materials are being studied, and people are being identified. Appropriate investigations and due process actions are being carried out.

Right here, out of high public interest, we inform you that two persons have been arrested for rigging the elections in the 69th election district of Marneuli.

It should be noted that, in some cases, individuals who publicly declare that they possess information and evidence related to alleged crimes committed during the election process have not yet cooperated with the investigation and refuse to provide relevant information, which delays the investigation process.

Georgian Prosecutor’s Office urges them to report to the investigative structures on time and cooperate to ensure fast, effective, objective investigations.
