Ozurgeti, Georgia: The administration of Ozurgeti municipality has been taking all measures to reduce the negative effects of heavy snowfall. The authorities have also advised citizens to stay indoors unless urgent work is needed outside.
It is noteworthy that the Ozurgeti City Hall and Emergency Management of Georgia are working together in emergency mode due to heavy snow. The roads are being cleared with special equipment, rescue crews are assisting citizens.
The Ozurgeti City Hall shared glimpses of the snow-clearing work on its official Facebook page on February 24, 2025, Monday. The City Hall of Ozurgeti also shared the details of the works carried out by Emergency Management of Georgia along with the snippets.
It was disclosed that all necessary measures will be taken to prevent any untoward incident due to worsening weather across all parts of the Municipality as well.              Â
According to the details provided by the City Hall, it is to be noted that it’s the third day of snowing in Ozurgeti, which is why City Hall and all relevant services are working in emergency mode. Central roads are being cleared of snow in cities and villages, damaged power lines are being repaired, and citizens involved in dialysis programs are being taken to the clinic.
It should be mentioned that Avtandil Talakvadze, the mayor of Ozurgeti, visited the site, and got acquainted with the ongoing snow-clearing works and the current situation in the villages being affected by heavy snowfall.
The weather is growing worse, and Ozurgeti City Hall is still mobilizing necessary resources and equipment, the mayor said. Every job is running in emergency mode. Every effort is being made to find a quick solution to the issues that have been caused.
He claims that to keep traffic moving, the major thoroughfares in towns and cities are being cleaned, technological salt is being used, and the necessary precautions are being taken. Citizens of Ozurgeti municipality who are  receiving dialysis should receive assistance.
