Georgia: Cognitive-entertaining and sports events for Georgian and Ukrainian children were held in Kakheti with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and Tbilisi City Hall.
Within the framework of the three-day field event, Ukrainian children, together with their Georgian peers, took part in various cognitive-entertaining and sports activities, which were developed with the active involvement of psychologists.
Pupils of Georgian and Ukrainian-speaking sectors of Mikheil Grushevsky Tbilisi Public School No. 41 took part in the event. The project is organized by the International Education Laboratory.
The aim of the project is to integrate students affected by the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine with their Georgian peers and to promote adaptation to the environment.
By the decision of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, Ukrainian – speaking sectors have been established in Tbilisi and Batumi, where the teaching process in the Ukrainian language is carried out from the first to the eleventh grade. Ukrainian students have access to general education with the same curriculum and textbooks as they used to study in Ukrainian schools. In addition, they study the Georgian language and literature and the subject ” Our Georgia “.
According to the decision of the Government of Georgia, Ukrainian students are enrolled in Georgian schools in a simplified manner.
Currently, more than 1,000 Ukrainian students are being educated in various public and private schools across the country. Of these, more than 400 students continue their studies in the Ukrainian -speaking sectors.
